I think why I like it so much is b/c he sounds so grown up in his own "voice"/thoughts, using words he learned from his parents or Grandma or whomever, and yet shows us his immaturity too in made-up words (galosh??) and tone. So funny.

merri, i loved this quote too! i agree that the writing is fabulous because it's from a boy's perspective but with a man's vocabulary. so funny. i don't have the book in front of my right now to write some of my favorite quotes, but i'll do that soon. i've been marking them.

I Loved all the "rotten Sandra" quotes! I think my sister probably felt about me like this :)) She is 8 years older. I think my favorite one was the one you wrote Merri, with the mittens and all.
